We are looking for an exceptional person who possesses a strong desire to contribute to the success and mission of the Upper Thompson Sanitation District. We are currently accepting applications for a full-time Wastewater Collection System Operator/Trainee. All levels of certification will be considered. The successful candidate must be able to obtain a Class 1 Wastewater Collection Operator Certification within one (1) year of hire and obtain a valid State of Colorado Class B Commercial Driver’s License within six (6) months of hire. Collection system operators perform operational and maintenance tasks pertaining to the wastewater collection system and support facilities. The workweek is 40 hours, and the typical schedule is Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Additional on-call and emergency response work is required.
Required minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or general education degree (GED). The Collection System Operator will perform all duties related to sewer main and manhole installations, rehabilitation, and point repairsincluding ditch work, heavy equipment operation, mathematical calculations, pipe laying, etc. The operator should possess a mechanical aptitude and physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds. The operator must reside within 45 minutes of The Upper Thompson Sanitation District collection building located at 2220 Mall Road, Estes Park, Colorado. UTSD is a drug and tobacco free workplace. Prior to employment, the successful candidate is required to complete employment and substance screening, including a background investigation.
Annual salary Range is $48,339 ($23.24/Hour) - $72,663 ($34.93/Hour) depending on education and experience. The workweek is 40 hours, and the schedule will vary due to shift work, weekends, and holidays. Additional on-call emergency work is required.
